Hi! I’m Monica. I’m a Salsa, Casino and Rueda de Casino instructor. I’m also the Director of Operations of Pure Havana Dance Studio and a dance enthusiast in Ottawa, Ontario.

I grew up in Mexico dancing ballet, flamenco and cumbia. I immigrated to Canada for my postgraduate studies at CarletonU.

Movement is my favorite way to stay healthy, create social connection and awaken joy. To me, dance is a fun challenge to create unique moments with others, while allowing our body to feel alive and our mind to be present. Luckily, the freedom of dance can be contagious.
No matter where you’re starting from, I’m here to join you in your journey.

When I’m not dancing, I’m playing soccer, reading, or tutoring Spanish or English one-on-one. It’s awesome to meet you!
